www.theblisspages.com - 15 minutes of fame in the Argus
The Argus newspaper has coverage throughout Sussex. See their website at the Argus.
They wrote an article on boardgames on theblisspages.
On their website, will I be on Features (news stories, big events and in-depth analysis) or Strange Sussex, their weekly round-up of quirkier stories?
Update: sigh ... inevitable, really ... it was indeed Strange Sussex ...
Their photographer, Skye Brackpool, came back to take more pictures (including some of my shirts!), and the article was in Monday's edition (20th October 2003). I'm on page three. I even got a mention on Monday's editorial, and again on Friday!
"Nevertheless Holly intended to write an uncritical piece. Over the years she had known far too many reporters who, because of envy or bitterness or a misguided sense of moral superiority, got a kick out of slanting and colouring a story to make their subjects look foolish."
So writes Dean R Koontz in Cold Fire, a book I read the day before the article came out.
The hero of the book gets presentiments that lead him to save the lives of strangers. He is self-effacing and shuns publicity.
I'm no hero and would not describe myself as self-effacing or as shunning publicity, but am glad still they didn't get a kick out of making me look too foolish - I can do that without any trouble on my own!
I've already received some feedback from the Argus story. What did you think of it? Please let me know.
