not with a bang, but a whimper - thus starts The Hollow Men, but I don't feel hollow as I leave my one-and-only job...
Although I don't officially leave until the end of the month, I am now on leave until then.
I had a low-key leaving do, with a nice speech from Majella, and a card from most of the department - not much to show for over forty years, but all I really expected.
I supplied a few bottles of wine, and Chris B brought a nice Cava, and after a couple of glasses, I went back to work until 1930.
I then went on to Bernie's leaving do in a nearby hostelry until 2240, before catching the 2302 to an empty house.
