Real Robots Magazine is a partwork eventually creating CYBOT, which I'm building with my daughter. It can now follow a beam of light or a black line, so at last, it's starting to behave like a robot, and it looks a bit better too with the rest of the case on! It can now avoid obstacles. We've now built the remote control. See www.eaglemoss.co.uk/curr-titles/robot.htm for further details.
Disaster! It's stopped working. Could this have something to do with the capacitor I found on the lounge floor? I can't remember where it's come from, but I'll get some back issues once I work out which one(s) I need, and get out the soldering iron soon. I'll keep you posted!
I also own a LEGO Mindstorms Robotics invention kit and LEGO Vision, with version 2.0 software (a great improvement over version 1.5). My latest creation is a walker, which can react to bumping into things by backing off, turning and trying another direction. See mindstorms.lego.com for further details.
