Having just bought Unreal 2, I found 'Bliss' was below the recommended spec, so being the sad git that I am, I just had to upgrade my sound card and speakers to a Creative Labs Audigy 2 and Inspire 6.1 6700 Speakers! The sound quality of the speakers is awesome - highly recommended and the Audigy 2 installed with no hitches.

Update: I've been experiencing 'popping' noises on the 6700 speakers. This is a known problem with the sub-woofer and an email to Creative Labs technical support with your name, address, phone number and the serial number on the bottom of the sub-woofer should enable them to resolve the problem.
