Poets Cornered is now back at the Eclipse pub, 33 Montgomery Street, Hove, BN3 5BF.
Update: Please note that the Eclipse has changed its name after refurbishment to The Poets Corner.
We meet on Tuesdays at 19:30.
It's open to all, and only costs a pound.
We normally do an exercise for about twenty minutes before reading out any poetry we have written. It's fun and there's a supportive atmosphere. Why not give it a try?
Poets cornered workshops include olympian evening, elemental, my dear watson, and slow time.
Poets cornered events have included hove festival 2008 events poets cornered and St Barnabas, and new moon rising, which was a Brighton Fringe Festival event.
I joined the poets cornered group in 2004, when we met on Mondays at the Eclipse. After a change of management, the pub raised our rent from zero to seventy-five pounds a week, so we had to leave.
We met on Tuesdays at Saint Barnabas Church on Sackville Road, followed by a stint at the Talk Shop at the back of Stoneham Park, Hove, then the Portland pub, Portland Road, Hove.
