Poets Cornered is unfortunately currently inactive.
Poets Cornered used to meet at the Farm Tavern, Farm Road, Hove, BN3 1FB.
We met on Tuesdays at 19:45 for 20:00.
It was open to all, and only cost a pound.
We normally did an exercise for about twenty minutes before reading out any poetry we have written. It was fun and there was a supportive atmosphere.
Poets cornered workshops include olympian evening, elemental, my dear watson, and slow time.
Poets cornered events have included hove festival 2008 events poets cornered and St Barnabas, and new moon rising, which was a Brighton Fringe Festival event.
I joined the poets cornered group in 2004, when we met on Mondays at the Eclipse (now renamed to Poets Corner). After a change of management, the pub raised our rent from zero to seventy-five pounds a week, so we had to leave. Since then, the pub has had several changes of management, and we were welcomed back and then subsequently lost the venue in 2011.
We met on Tuesdays at Saint Barnabas Church on Sackville Road, followed by a stint at the Talk Shop at the back of Stoneham Park, Hove, then the Portland pub, Portland Road, Hove.
