www.theblisspages.com - The Poem Created For Salsa Holiday

The limpid sky lightened with my mood
Tingling anticipation of imminent participation
Tipped out of bed, dressed, and had a cup of char
Time rushing past, cast my cases in the car...
Panic sets in as we leave late
Purple prose when passed by purple coach
Pile on at Maresfield, after near pile-up near Piltdown
Push canvas cases in coach, catch-up communications with other Cuban-isters.
Conversation on coach from sublime to ridiculous
Can we change shoes en route? Would a really tight skirt suit?
Count the queue for the loo; compare leary shirts green and blue
'Clous' to 'Coquettes', as French prose abounds,
'Cinglé' is 'nutter', as new-found friend expounds.
Ferry was the Rodin, and the crossing was restful
Food was couscous with corn, result - alas - Technicolor yawn
France soon loomed large upon the prow, white cliffs but a distant memory now
Fast down the motorway we flew, and soon arrived at pastures new.
Salsa class was next, some too keen to get feet wet.
So long anticipated but here at last, it was to be a real blast
Some euros were dropped onto the floor - markers to ensure our feet strayed no more
Slow steps, quick steps, not always the right feet, steps
Soon we noticed our confidence growing, missteps slowing, flash moves flowing.
Holiday too soon over, keys found, off to Dover
How long will we remember our Lille trip? September?
Happy memories will surely linger longer
Hopefully our dancing growing ever stronger.
